For Holocaust victims, especially Elie Wiesel, the torture they set about turned them into walking skeletons. Prisoners were given over very unforesightful solid food during their time in the camps. What little food they were given was ageing and nasty. When Elie Wiesel was rescued, he probably weighed no more than sixty pounds.
